Since the late sixties, we have been warned that the uncontrolled pollution of our air, land and water, along with our insatiable appetite for natural resources, would lead to the death of the planet. The laws enacted as a result of these warnings have made the environment a cleaner place today than it was 25 years ago. However, these efforts are only a beginning; much work still needs to be done.
