My esteemed associate Mr. Soyfert recently read that Benz 380 SLs are a nice collectible-assuming that the engine in your new acquisition comes equipped with a double row timing chain. From 1981-83, some of these cars did leave the factory with single row chains. Prudent owners of these vehicles eventually opted for a total upgrade of the timing chain and sprockets to a double row configuration.
