You’re probably starting to see that a lot of elements of point-style ignition operation have been carried over to transistorized ignition operation. So far, we’ve sampled inductive and Hall effect switching of the coil primary. In both cases, the distributor has acted as an input signal for the coil. And as always, our distributor has retained its traditional role as a mechanical distribution device which transmits the secondary spark to each plug as its turn to fire coincides with the combustion stroke.
