There aren’t many surviving ’86 Nissan Stanza wagons on our salt-ecrusted Winter streets here in the Midwest, so we weren’t surprised by the overall condition of the specimen that showed up on the hook the other day. The Stanza’s twin sliding rear doors looked as fresh as Chrysler’s latest minivan offerings, if somewhat more boxy. Under the hood, however, things weren’t nearly as clean and modern-looking. Twelve Winters and haphazard maintenance had taken their toll on the Stanza’s once-clean engine compartment.
