Import Service Article ImageWhile working for the past three years on the tech line at Automotive Information Systems, I found that a great number of the automotive technicians I assisted were using computers in their shops as well as at home. Their shop computers were used for managing customer repair orders, CD-ROM based automotive information systems such as ALLDATA, Mitchell ON DEMAND, or Shop Key, and for storing waveforms and repair procedures. I would venture to guess that more than 70 percent of independent repair shops are using PCs for multiple shop needs.
